Role Overview:

Teaching Personnel is seeking a passionate, caring, and skilled individual to join our team as a KS1 and KS2 Teaching Assistant with a focus on supporting Special Educational Needs (SEN). In this role, you will enhance the learning experience for students with diverse learning needs, providing tailored support to help them thrive academically and socially. You will work alongside the class teacher to plan lessons and activities, track student progress, and offer 1:1 support for students requiring additional assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and creating engaging class activities for students, including those with SEN.
  • Provide support to students with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis to meet their individual learning needs.
  • Foster an inclusive and positive learning environment where all students, including those with SEN, feel supported and encouraged.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to their Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Promote a safe and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and personal growth for students with SEN.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to ensure effective strategies are in place for SEN students.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Must be a UK resident.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly within KS1 or KS2, and working with SEN students, is preferred but not essential.
  • A good understanding of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum, as well as experience supporting children with special educational needs (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to working with children with SEN.
  • Flexible working hours (during term time only).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
