Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Salford is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs. You will be the consistent, trusted adult who helps them feel safe, understood and ready to learn. This is a long-term role with the potential to go permanent for the right person.

The role offers 1:1 support, collaboration with SENCo and external professionals, and the chance to build skills for SEN, psychology, therapy or teaching careers within a supportive SEN team.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN in school or similar setting (or strong desire to move into SEN).
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Ability to build trust and positive relationships quickly.
• Confidence responding to challenging behaviour in a positive, consistent way.
• Reliability and a real commitment to the pupil's progress.

• Support emotional regulation, communication and social development.
• Adapt activities and resources so the pupil can access learning.
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals.
• Follow and contribute to support plans, and record progress.
• Help create a calm, structured and inclusive environment.

Location: Salford, Greater Manchester

Pay: 470- 570 per week (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, term time

Contract: Ongoing, with the potential to go permanent
