Job summary

Smart Education are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work in the Erdington area, Birmingham. You will support pupils with special educational needs across a range of year groups, helping with learning and behaviour in a supportive, flexible environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 months UK experience in a Primary school.
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management.
  • Confident and supporting with learning and behaviour.
  • Enhanced DBS on Update service (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe, positive and productive classroom.
  • Work collaboratively with Teachers, support staff and SEN teams.
  • Follow school policies and expectations.
  • Working with pupils in class, small groups and 1:1.
  • Working across Primary and Secondary ages.

Job Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Minimum 6 months UK experience in a Primary school

  • Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the Update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Able to Swim or happy to go in the water
  • Personal Care Required
