Job description

Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay Rate: GBP13.09 per hour
Location: Aston, Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Wednesday, 08:45 AM 02:30 PM; Thursday, 08:45 AM 01:30 PM

Smart Education is excited to recruit a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students aged 14 to 25 with low behavioural ASD, ADHD, and Down's Syndrome at a specialist educational setting in Aston, Birmingham. What You ll Be Doing:


• Support young adults with low behavioural ASD, ADHD, and Down s Syndrome, tailoring your approach to meet individual learning needs.
• Help students develop their independence and build confidence in their educational journey.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCOs to ensure a supportive learning environment.
• Create an inclusive atmosphere where students feel valued and encouraged to succeed.

Key Requirements:


• Valid Enhanced DBS (Child or Child and Adult) or be willing to apply for one.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Minimum 6 months experience working with SEN students in a school or similar setting.
• Experience working with young people with SEN needs, particularly ASD, ADHD, and Down's Syndrome.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude in supporting diverse learning styles.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with teaching staff and colleagues.
