Job description

Interaction Education are pleased to be working with a great school in the Watford area in their search for an SEN teacher.

This is a full time, long term contract position and will be paid dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents, and outside agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
  • Provide a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Regularly monitor and track student progress and adapt teaching strategies as needed.
  • Support students with personal care and social development as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
Essential Criteria
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEN policies and best practices.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to differentiate and adapt lessons to meet diverse needs.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience with specific SEN needs such as Autism, Dyslexia, or ADHD.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in Special Education or SEN.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology in the classroom.
