Job summary

Polaris Education – Becker School in Batley seeks a SEN Teacher to deliver high quality lessons for pupils aged 5 to 13 with ASC/SEMH needs. The role is based at Becker School and requires QTS and a degree-level qualification. 37.5 hours per week, full-time term-time contract, with benefits including a pension and life assurance.

The successful candidate will contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning environment and participate in safeguarding and DBS processes.

Qualifications

• Hold qualified teacher status (QTS).
• Degree level qualification.
• Experience teaching KS1/2.
• Experience with pupils with SEND.
• Strong behaviour management.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver high quality lessons within the national curriculum while meeting ASC & SEMH needs.
• Support the class team in facilitating learning and promoting positive behaviours.
• Report on pupils’ progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time including trips.
• Build positive relationships with pupils and drive learning outcomes.
