Contract Type: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent
Salary: £31,650 – £45,646 per annum + SEN Allowance
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs (SEN)? Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with our partner SEN school to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teacher to join their experienced and supportive team from September.
Our partner SEN school is a well-established, specialist provision catering to pupils aged 3–19 with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), and severe learning difficulties (SLD). The school offers a highly supportive and inclusive environment, equipped with modern facilities such as sensory rooms, therapy spaces, and outdoor learning areas.The school places a strong emphasis on a holistic and child-centred approach to education, promoting independence, communication, and emotional wellbeing. With a highly experienced leadership team and a strong focus on staff development, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking and caring community.
As an SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering tailored lessons to meet a diverse range of learning needs. You’ll work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and other professionals to ensure each pupil receives the best possible support and education.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering high-quality, individualised teaching to students with a range of SEN, including ASC, PMLD, and SLD.
Developing and adapting lesson plans to suit the learning styles and needs of pupils.
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, setting realistic and challenging targets.
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support.
Creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching students with SEN is highly desirable.
A strong understanding of safeguarding and behaviour management.
Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
