Job summary

London Teaching Pool, Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher for a specialist SEMH school in Coggeshall, supporting students aged 11-18 with SEMH and additional needs.

You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs, build confidence and resilience, and work closely with Teaching Assistants to monitor progress and promote positive behaviour. A full driving licence is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH or additional needs is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated teaching approaches.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt lessons to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities.
• Patient, calm, resilient and compassionate approach with safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students aged 11-18.
• Adapt lessons and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
• Support students to access learning and make progress with SEMH needs.
• Develop personalized learning opportunities to build confidence and independence.
• Monitor and record student progress and identify next steps.
• Build positive relationships with students and promote positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants and support staff to provide consistent support.
• Contribute to EHCP outcomes and annual targets where appropriate.
