Job summary

A dedicated SEN Teacher is sought for a Reception/Year 1 class in Esher. You will teach nine pupils with complex needs, including autism, using a communication-led curriculum and AAC. A calm, child-centred practitioner is preferred to build a safe environment and strong relationships with families.

The role is full-time, long-term with view to permanent, with visits/interviews welcome. QTS and SEN experience are essential, with specialist CPD and support from a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with complex needs and autism in a specialist setting.
• Ability to lead and coordinate Teaching Assistants within a small class.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with families and team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a personalised, early years curriculum for nine pupils with complex needs.
• Use AAC and other communication approaches to support non-verbal pupils.
• Apply positive behaviour support and de-escalation strategies.
• Collaborate with MDT to implement EHCPs and progress reviews.
