Senploy in Barking Riverside, East London is seeking a confident, energetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision within a mainstream primary school. You will support a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class with complex needs, including pre-verbal children who require communication support and personal care.

The role is full-time with ASAP start. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, proactive and resilient, able to thrive in a busy classroom and help pupils develop communication,

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs.
• Experience working with pre-verbal or non-verbal pupils.
• Comfortable providing intimate and personal care.
• Confident in managing challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• Patient, proactive and resilient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsabilités

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with complex SEND needs.
• Support pre-verbal and non-verbal children with communication and engagement.
• Assist with intimate care, including toileting and changing.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and challenging behaviour.
• Encourage independence, social interaction and confidence.
• Assist with sensory, practical and play-based learning activities.
• Work closely with teachers to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
