Job summary

Oak Tree School, part of the Maiden Erlegh Trust, seeks a passionate teacher to support primary-age pupils with SEND, including ASD, delivering engaging learning and collaborating with therapists and teaching assistants.

You will develop personalised learning plans, monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews within a nurturing, inclusive environment, with access to strong CPD and hybrid working arrangements.

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with primary teaching experience.
• Strong understanding of SEND, particularly ASD and complex needs.
• Able to adapt teaching approaches to a wide range of learning needs.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning for primary-aged pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Plan engaging and personalised learning experiences that reflect individual strengths and needs.
• Support pupils to make excellent progress academically, socially and emotionally.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals.
• Implement communication strategies, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), to ensure all pupils can access learning.
• Monitor, assess and track progress, contributing to Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) reviews and targets.
• Create a positive, safe and nurturing learning environment where pupils can develop confidence and independence.

Build strong partnerships with parents, carers and external agencies to secure the best outcomes for pupils.
