We are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teachers to join various schools around Norfolk. The successful candidate will work with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables all learners to achieve their full potential. This role is for June 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teacher:
  1. Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with SEN, including ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, and complex learning needs.
  2. Develop and implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) in collaboration with the SENCO, parents, and external specialists.
  3. Use a range of teaching strategies and interventions to support individual learning needs.
  4. Create a nurturing and structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
  5. Support students’ social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
  6. Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide a holistic approach to learning.
  7. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Ideal SEN Teacher:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with SEN in a school or specialist setting.
  • A strong understanding of differentiated teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other specialist communication methods (desirable).
  • A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
