Job description

We are looking for dedicated and compassionateSEN Teachersto join various schools around Norfolk. The successful candidate will work with students withSpecial Educational Needs (SEN), creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that enables all learners to achieve their full potential. This role is for June 2025.

Duties as a SEN Teacher:

  • Plan and deliverdifferentiated lessonstailored to meet the needs of students withSEN, includingASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, and complex learning needs.
  • Develop and implementEducation, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)in collaboration with theSENCO, parents, and external specialists.
  • Use a range ofteaching strategies and interventionsto support individual learning needs.
  • Create anurturing and structured classroom environmentthat encourages student engagement.
  • Support students’social, emotional, and behavioural development, promoting confidence and independence.
  • Work closely withteaching assistants, therapists, and other support staffto provide a holistic approach to learning.
  • Communicate effectively withparents, carers, and external agenciesto ensure the best outcomes for students.

Ideal SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children withSENin a school or specialist setting.
  • A strong understanding ofdifferentiated teaching strategies and behaviour management techniques as a Teaching Assistant,
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Knowledge ofPECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or other specialist communication methods(desirable).
  • ADBS check(or willingness to obtain one).
