Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Southampton
Salary: Paid to scale
Contract: Full-time, Temporary to Permanent and Permanent considered (September 2025 Start)
Key Stages: KS3, KS4, KS5 (Primary teaching approaches)

About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join a nurturing and inclusive school in Southampton this September. You'll be working with students from Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, delivering a primary-style curriculum tailored to meet the diverse and complex needs of learners with Special Educational Needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for either a primary-trained or secondary-trained teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in a specialist setting. We warmly welcome applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are eager to develop their skills within a supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.

  • Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive classroom environment.

  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including SENCOs, therapists, and support staff.

  • Foster positive relationships with students, families and carers.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral support and enrichment activities.

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - Primary or Secondary trained.

  • Experience of, or a strong interest in, working with students with SEND (including ASC, MLD, SEMH, and complex needs).

  • A nurturing, patient, and resilient approach.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
