Job summary

Outcomes First Group is seeking an exceptional SEN Teacher for Avonside School in Bristol to join a founding team shaping a new school and curriculum. You will deliver high-quality teaching to students with diverse needs, fostering inclusion and progress.

You will collaborate with therapists, Learning Support Assistants and families, plan personalized learning, and contribute to culture that values wellbeing, opportunity and achievement for every pupil.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience teaching in an educational setting.
  • Plan, deliver and adapt engaging lessons for learners with diverse needs.
  • Passionate about inclusive education and student potential.
  • Creative, flexible and collaborative teaching approach.
  • Holds a full UK Driving Licence.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that inspire students and support excellent progress.
  • Adapt teaching to meet the individual needs of learners with a range of additional and complex needs.
  • Plan, develop and review schemes of learning across your curriculum area.
  • Monitor student progress, using assessment to identify interventions and celebrate achievement.
  • Lead the development of your subject area, ensuring teaching remains creative, innovative and engaging.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Avonside School and the wider Outcomes First Group to share best practice and develop the curriculum.
  • Support colleagues through training and sharing effective teaching strategies within your subject specialism.
  • Work closely with the Exams Officer to ensure accurate qualification entries and successful outcomes.
  • Teach across a range of subjects where required to support the effective delivery of the school's curriculum.
  • Work alongside therapists, Learning Support Assistants, families and the wider multidisciplinary team to provide a consistent, holistic approach to each student's education.
