Role Details

I am seeking to appoint an experienced SEN Teacher to an Outstanding (Ofsted) SEN school for pupils aged 11-19 with autism, based in Lewisham. The school benefits from excellent staffing ratios, small class sizes, and a highly personalised approach to learning.

Position Highlights

• ASD SEN Teacher
• Post 16 SEN Teacher
• Temp to Perm contract
• Start: September 2025
• Location: Forest Hill, Lewisham
• Facilities: Brand new build, hydrotherapy pool, sensory environment, specialised rooms, sensory room, adapted playground, community minibuses

Class Details

The class comprises 9 pupils from KS5 with Autism, SLD, and some mental health and behavioural challenges. Support is provided by 4 full-time TAs, and clear strategies are in place for each student.

Ideal Candidate

Experience teaching secondary pupils with complex ASD and low communication skills (PECS & Makaton) is desirable. There is potential for a TLR as the current ASD lead takes on broader responsibilities. Recent UK SEN experience, including Overseas Trained Teachers (OTTs), with or without QTS, are encouraged to apply. The school offers an excellent induction program.
