Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a SEN Teacher to join our Leighton Buzzard team for a Full-time Temporary to Permanent role, starting October 2026. You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, and develop IEPs to support personalised learning.

Collaborating with teaching assistants and the SENCO, you will monitor progress, adapt strategies, and maintain an inclusive environment that promotes wellbeing and achievement.

Qualifications

• QTS required to teach in UK schools.
• Experience with SEN settings highly desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check and professional references required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated SEN lessons.
• Support students with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Develop and implement IEPs and personalised learning strategies.
• Create an inclusive, safe classroom focused on wellbeing and progress.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to meet a range of special educational needs.
• Support students with a variety of needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
• Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies.
• Create a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and emotional wellbeing.
• Use a range of teaching approaches to engage students and support their individual learning styles.
• Monitor, assess, and track student progress, adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals to support student development.
• Promote positive behaviour and support students in developing social and emotional skills.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on progress and wellbeing.

Candidate Profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• Experience working with SEN students is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to teaching.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
• Commitment to inclusive education and ongoing professional development.
• Holds (or is willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS check and professional references.

We offer a £100 referral fee for successful referrals of friends or colleagues who complete 5 or more shifts.
