Uniform Education is seeking qualified teachers with QTS to deliver 1:1 SEN outreach tuition in Harrow. This role offers flexible hours, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with paid PPA time.

Sessions are conducted mainly at the pupil's home or a nearby library or centre, tailoring lessons to individual plans and pupil needs. You will report weekly progress and collaborate with parents and professionals.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
  • Experience of, or strong interest in, supporting children and young people with SEN.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to differentiate and adapt teaching to individual needs.
  • A patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and families.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised 1:1 tuition to primary and/or secondary-aged pupils.
  • Adapt lessons, resources and teaching approaches to meet individual SEN and learning needs.
  • Plan, prepare and resource lessons in line with each pupil’s individual learning plan.
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, engagement, independence and academic progress.
  • Write a short weekly report summarising the sessions covered, progress made and any observations.
  • Work collaboratively with parents/carers and relevant professionals to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress.

Teachers for SEN Outreach Tuition

Location: Across the Borough of Harrow

Start Date: ASAP

Pay: £30–£45 per hour + paid PPA time

We are seeking qualified teachers with QTS to deliver 1:1 outreach tuition to children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in Harrow.

This role is ideal for teachers who are passionate about making a difference and enjoy adapting their teaching to meet the individual needs, interests and learning styles of pupils outside the traditional classroom setting.

We can offer tuition to pupils across both primary and secondary age groups, with opportunities to accommodate your preferred age range and subject specialism wherever possible.

Key Information
  • Hours: Monday–Friday, between 9am–4pm, term-time only. Sessions can be scheduled flexibly around your availability.
  • Age Groups: Primary and/or secondary-aged pupils, depending on your experience and preference.
  • SEN: Pupils may have a range of additional needs, and tuition will be tailored to their individual learning profile and support plan.
  • PPA Time: You will receive 2 hours of paid PPA when you first begin tuition with each student. For every 10 hours of tuition completed per child, you will also receive an additional hour of paid PPA.
  • Location: Tuition typically takes place in the pupil’s home, with a parent/carer present. In some cases, sessions may be held at a nearby library or centre.
