Job summary

Fitzwaryn School in Wantage (satellite site at St John's Academy, Grove) is expanding and seeks two dedicated teachers for the main site and the secondary satellite. You will deliver differentiated lessons for pupils with MLD/SLD/PMLD and autism, work with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to an inclusive, thriving school community.

Qualifications

  • QTS is required and must demonstrate ability to adapt teaching for pupils with a range of needs.
  • Experience with SEND, EHCPs, safeguarding and curriculum knowledge is essential.
  • Knowledge of SEN legislation and inclusive educational practice.
  • Strong relationships with pupils, families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Growth mindset, reflective practice, confidentiality and professionalism.

Job description

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and proven ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of individual needs (MLD, SLD, PMLD, Autism)
  • Experience or strong understanding of how children and young people with SEND learn, including theory and best practice
  • Experience or strong understanding of working with pupils with EHCPs
  • Knowledge of current SEN legislation, statutory guidance relating to SEND, safeguarding and the curriculum
  • Creative, adaptable and committed to the ethos, values and inclusive vision of the school
  • A resilient, positive team player who builds strong relationships with pupils and families

  • Due to the expansion of Fitzwaryn into a satellite site on the site of St John's Academy in Grove in September 2026, The Propeller Academy Trust is looking to hire two dedicated and passionate teachers, one to teach on the mainsite and one to teach at the secondary satellite site at St John's.
  • Located in the heart of Wantage, Fitzwaryn School is highly regarded as an outstanding provision for educating children and young people aged 3-19 with moderate learning difficulties (MLD) severe learning difficulties (SLD), profound & multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) and autism (ASD).
