Job summary

Reed Education is seeking a committed SEN Teacher for a 1-year fixed-term maternity cover at a well-established special school in Braintree. The post is full-time and starts in October 2026, serving learners aged 3–19 with SLD, PMLD, and Autism.

You will deliver engaging, personalised learning in a collaborative MDT, contribute to an inclusive, nurturing environment, and access strong professional development, wellbeing support, and a welcoming staff team.

Qualifications

• Strong communication with colleagues, families and learners.

SEN Teacher - 1 Year Fixed-Term Maternity Cover

Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time SEN Teacher to join a well-established and highly supportive special school on a 1-year fixed-term maternity cover contract, starting in October 2026. The school supports learners aged 3-19 with a range of needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Autism.

The Role

You will be responsible for delivering engaging, personalised learning experiences that enable every learner to achieve their full potential. Working within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, you will play a key role in creating a positive, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment.
