Job summary

Oak Field School in Wollaton invites applications from a teacher with a strong commitment to SEN. You may be an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher, with QTS or due by January 2027, open to Primary and Secondary candidates who can transfer skills to SEN settings.

The successful candidate will lead a curriculum area across the school, develop personalised learning for children with SEN/SLD/PMLD, and work with outside agencies to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Understanding of child development and experience of, or strongly evidenced interest in, teaching or supporting children and young people with SEN is essential.
• Strong commitment to developing personalised learning, curriculum and assessment for children and young people with SEN/SLD/PMLD.
• Willingness to develop subject leadership within an SEN setting and collaborate with outside agencies.

This post would suit a teacher with a strongly evidenced interest inSEN; this could be an experienced teacher, or an Early Career Teacher we arevery keen to appoint the right person for this post. Please apply only if you have QTS, or will have achievedthis by January 2027. Applications are welcome both from Primary andSecondary teachers since you will be using lots of transferable skills.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, proactive and hard-workingteacher who is an outstanding classroom practitioner and is committed to improving outcomes for children and youngpeople with SEN and/or disability and their families. Each teacher has responsibilityfor leading a curriculum area across the school.

An understanding of child development and experience of, or stronglyevidenced interest in, teaching or supporting children and young people with SENis essential - further training in aspects of Special Education will beprovided, as appropriate. The school is organised in to 3 Phases (3-7, 7-14,and 14-19), has particular strengths in Communication, the Arts, PhysicalDevelopment, PSHE and Thinking Ahead (including work-related learning andcareers), and a particular commitment to extra-curricular enrichment, includingoutdoor learning and adventure, and community visits.
