Job summary

CERT Solutions Ltd is seeking a strong SEN Teaching Assistant for a school in Tipton, West Midlands. The role is full-time and requires building a good relationship with the pupil to understand needs and manage challenging situations.

Responsibilities include 1:1 and small-group support, assisting the teacher, and fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment for students with SEN. Prior school-based SEN TA experience is essential.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education, or SEN).
• Previous experience working in a school setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
• Strong understanding of special educational needs.
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

Job description

Cert Solutions are seeking a strong, committed and experienced SEN Teaching assistant who is confident working with young people with challenging behaviour. The right candidate must be able to use the correct de‑escalation methods to ensure the pupil is kept safe and is progressing academically with their work.

The school we are working with is located in Tipton and require someone who is available full time. For this role it is essential for a successful candidate to build a good relationship with the pupil and to best understand their needs and how to overcome any challenging situations. There is a special approach to this and to ensuring that they are understood and listened to.
