Job summary

CERT Solutions Ltd. in the West Midlands is seeking a strong, committed SEN Teaching Assistant with confidence handling challenging behaviour.

You will build a positive relationship with the pupil to understand needs and use de-escalation techniques to keep them safe and progressing academically. The role includes 1:1 and small-group support, assisting teachers with inclusive lessons, and helping pupils with academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs in a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. Teaching Support, Childcare, Education, or SEN).
• Previous experience in a school setting as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
• Patience, empathy and commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.

Job description

Cert Solutions are seeking a strong, committed and experienced SEN Teaching assistant who is confident working with young people with challenging behaviour. The right candidate must be able to use the correct de-escalation methods to ensure the pupil is kept safe and is progressing academically with their work.

For this role it is essential for a successful candidate to build a good relationship with the pupil and to best understand their needs and how to overcome any challenging situations. There is a special approach to this and to ensuring that they are understood and listened to.

• Previous experience working in a school setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant
• A strong understanding of special educational needs
• Patience, empathy, and a commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs
