Job summary

Long-Term Teachers are working with a welcoming school in St Austell, Cornwall, seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join on an ongoing, full-time basis. The school is looking for someone to provide consistent support to children with EHCPs, helping them access learning, develop independence and progress in a supportive environment across KS1 and KS2.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or similar educational setting.
• Experience supporting children with SEN or additional learning needs is advantageous.
• An understanding of EHCPs and individualised support strategies is beneficial.
• A patient, caring and empathetic approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to children with EHCPs across KS1 and KS2.
• Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups as required.
• Work with class teachers to deliver accessible and engaging activities.
• Follow individual support plans and strategies for pupils' needs.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive social interaction.
• Adapt learning resources to help pupils access the curriculum.
• Monitor engagement and progress and share observations with teachers.
