Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for an independent school in the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The role starts ASAP, with potential to go permanent for the right candidate. The TA will support a student with learning difficulties, including autism and dyslexia, in 1:1 and small group settings.

The ideal candidate is calm, patient, pro-active, and able to engage students while promoting independence and a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with children from an SEN background.
• Experience working with children with disabilities.
• Degree in psychology, education or related field preferred.
• Some training/experience in speech and language/communication.
• High professionalism.
• Ability to foster a successful learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN.
• Work with colleagues to support children in small groups.
• Be proactive and engaging to build relationships with students.
• Encourage independence and a positive learning environment.
