Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming primary school in Watford, Hertfordshire to recruit a caring SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant. The role starts 2nd November 2026 on a full-time basis, with daily rate of 95–125 per day, providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support to primary pupils with a range of needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, LSP or SEN support worker.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary school.
  • Ability to provide 1:1 and small-group support.
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build relationships.
  • Desirable TA/SEN qualifications or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support across the primary phase.

  • Support social, emotional and behavioural development.

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Watford, Hertfordshire, seeking a caring, experienced and committed SEN Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team from 2nd November 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEN professional to provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support to primary-aged pupils, helping children overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence and make positive academic, social and emotional progress.

The Role:
  • Supporting pupils with a range of additional and special educational needs
  • Providing targeted 1:1 and small-group support across the primary phase
  • Helping pupils access learning and develop greater independence
  • Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Working closely with class teachers, SEN staff and the wider school team
  • Helping create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Delivering personalised interventions and supporting individual learning plans
  • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and encouraging their confidence
The Ideal Candidate:
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, LSP or SEN support worker
  • Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs within a primary school
  • Confident providing 1:1 and small-group support
  • Patient, nurturing and able to build strong relationships with children
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by pupils with additional needs
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive, adaptable and able to respond to individual pupil needs
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children to achieve their potential
  • Relevant TA/SEN qualifications or equivalent school-based experience are desirable
