Job summary

Horizon Teachers is assisting a specialist secondary school in Twickenham to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term role starting ASAP. You will support pupils aged 11-16 with Autism and complex learning needs in small, nurturing classes, contributing to their confidence and independence.

The role involves 1:1 and small group work, collaboration with teachers and therapists, and support for EHCPs. DBS enhanced check and QTS or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people with Autism or SEND.
• Patience, empathy and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Team player who models kindness and positivity.
• Knowledge of Makaton or AAC approaches is a bonus.
• Teaching roles require QTS or equivalent.

We are working with an outstanding, purpose-built secondary special school in Twickenham to find a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term role starting ASAP.
