Job summary

Confidential in Brentford is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to assist children and young people aged 8-16 with autism, ADHD and SEMH in a specialist SEN provision. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, promoting emotional and social development in a structured, nurturing environment.

You will work closely with teachers, therapists and carers, implement behaviour support strategies, monitor progress and uphold safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience with children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or SEMH needs.
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with SEN.
  • Support students with emotional regulation, communication and social interaction.
  • Assist students inside and outside of the classroom to encourage engagement.
  • Implement behaviour support strategies and de-escalation techniques.
  • Support teachers and SEN staff with classroom activities and differentiated learning.
  • Build positive relationships to promote confidence and wellbeing.
  • Monitor student progress and report concerns to staff.
  • Support safeguarding procedures and follow school policies.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists and parents/carers.
