Connex Education Partnership in Chesterfield is seeking an SEN Support Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND within a SEN school. The role offers flexible day-to-day supply, short-term and longer-term opportunities, with competitive daily pay and a supportive team.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other staff to tailor support for pupils with communication difficulties, autism and other needs, helping them access education in an inclusive

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEND is desirable
• Experience in schools, childcare, youth work, care or support work is advantageous
• Patient, caring and resilient approach
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
• Confidence in adapting approach to meet individual needs
• Willingness to learn and develop SEN knowledge and skills
• Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN throughout the school day
• Support children with a range of learning and additional needs
• Assist teachers with delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
• Adapt your approach to suit individual pupils and their specific needs
• Support pupils to work towards their individual targets and EHCP outcomes
• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs and other professionals
• Assist with personal care where required, following training and school guidance
• Promote a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment
