Job summary

St Joseph's is seeking a caring SEN Support Assistant to join our inclusive primary school community in England. The role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, term time only, supporting children with special educational needs.

You will work with the SENCO and teachers to provide targeted support, promoting independence, social skills and emotional regulation. Experience with SEN is desirable; commitment to safeguarding is essential.

Qualifications

• Caring, enthusiastic and committed to helping children with SEN.
• Able to work with a small group and alongside teachers and the SENCO.
• Experience working with children with SEN is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and small-group support for children with SEN.
• Help pupils access learning and participate in school life.
• Develop confidence, independence and social skills.
• Implement strategies and programmes for individual needs.
• Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress with teachers and SENCO.
• Support pupils during lessons, playtimes, lunchtimes, and other activities.
