Job summary

Aspire People Limited is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time role in a friendly primary school in Bury. You will support pupils with SEND, particularly autism and SEMH, helping them access learning and manage emotions during the school day.

Working 8:30am–3:30pm, Monday to Friday, you will collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver targeted interventions, promote inclusion, and foster a safe, encouraging learning environment for all pupils.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND
  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
  • Support pupils with autism and SEMH needs to access the curriculum
  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
  • Help pupils develop social skills, confidence and independence
  • Implement support plans and targeted interventions
  • Encourage participation in classroom learning and wider school activities
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and families
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
