Job summary

Aspire People is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position within a warm, inclusive primary school in Bury. The role focuses on supporting pupils with SEN, particularly those with autism and SEMH needs, to access learning and regulate emotions.

You will work closely with the class teacher and support staff to provide targeted assistance throughout the school day, building strong relationships and a positive learning environment for pupils with various needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children with SEND.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to complete safeguarding and pre-employment check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
  • Support pupils with autism and SEMH needs to access the curriculum.
  • Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies.
  • Help pupils develop social skills, confidence and independence.
  • Implement support plans and targeted interventions.
  • Encourage participation in classroom learning and wider school activities.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and families.
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
