Job description

Role: SEN Support Assistant

Protocol Education is seeking SEND Learning Support Assistants to work in various primary schools within Swindon and surrounding areas.

Position Details:
  • Pay Rate: ££ per hour (dependent on experience)
  • Full-Time: Mon-Fri
  • Hours: 8:30-15:30
  • Location: Swindon and surrounding areas
About the Role:

The role involves working with children with ASD, SLD, complex learning disabilities, SEMH needs, or those with educational needs declarations. Schools aim to support each pupil to develop confidence, succeed in individual targets, and foster a passion for learning. Staff are expected to motivate, challenge, and provide dedicated guidance to all students, regardless of their personal needs.

Candidate Requirements:
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and committed to SEND/SEMH support.
  • Ability to adapt and support children with additional requirements, including high-level behavior management.
  • Confident leadership and initiative to communicate with staff, parents, and governors as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal and transparent communication skills.
  • Willingness to go 'one step beyond' in teaching methods, especially in 1:1 support.

All pay rates include statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent roles in the future.
