Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to deliver Maths, English, or Science tuition for children with SEND/SEMH across the UK. Roles include in-person, hybrid and remote teaching with flexible hours to fit your schedule, guided by a trauma-informed approach.

We offer competitive pay (£28–£35/hour), local authority partnerships, CPD support, and a community-focused environment dedicated to improving outcomes for vulnerable learners.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH, MLD, SLD or PMLD in a trauma-informed setting.
  • QTS or QTLS certification required for UK teaching roles.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (we can assist) and 2+ professional references.
  • Based in the UK with right to work; safeguarding awareness expected.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, online and hybrid Maths, English or Science tuition to pupils with SEND/SEMH needs.
  • Support and mentor pupils referred by authorities and schools, delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring.
  • Plan lessons, track progress, and report outcomes to stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Contribute to a child-centred learning environment and safeguarding practices.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
