Job summary

Targeted Provision is seeking SEND Tutors and Teachers to deliver Maths, English or Science tutoring in person, online or hybrid settings. You will support disengaged and vulnerable young people with SEND and SEMH needs, using flexible, trauma-informed methods.

Roles are self-employed, with opportunities across the UK. Competitive hourly pay (£28–£35) and flexible hours, including part-time to full-time to suit your schedule, are offered along with CPD and mentoring support.

Qualifications

• 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH.
• Familiarity with teaching English, Maths, and Science.
• Experience with trauma-informed teaching approaches.

Responsibilities

• Deliver in-person, online or hybrid Maths, English or Science tutoring to SEND/SEMH students.
• Plan lessons and provide regular feedback on progress.
• Coordinate with local authorities and schools to receive referrals.
• Maintain safeguarding and create a safe learning environment.

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements

• Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
• Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
• Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
• Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
• Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities

• Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
• Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
• Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
• We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
