Job summary

Targeted Provision is hiring SEND Tutors and Teachers in the UK to deliver Maths, English or Science tuition to young people with SEND and SEMH needs.

Positions are self-employed, with opportunities for in-person, hybrid, or remote teaching. We offer flexible hours, CPD support, mentoring, and a supportive core team. Applicants should have QTS/QTLS and an enhanced DBS, with safeguarding knowledge central to the role.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years teaching experience, ideally with SEND/SEMH/MLD/SLD/PMLD
  • Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • UK-based with the right to work in the UK, even for remote/online jobs
  • Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate) and 2+ professional references
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person, online/remote, and hybrid Maths, English, or Science tuition to children and young people with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Support pupils referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring
  • Plan and report lessons and provide regular progress feedback
  • Contribute to raising the standard of education for young people with SEND and related needs

SEND Tutor and Teacher role requirements
  • Experience: 2+ years teaching experience, ideally working with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or PMLD in a holistic and trauma-informed way
  • Subjects: Familiarity teaching English, Maths, and/or Science
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS)
  • Compliance: Enhanced DBS (we can facilitate this if needed) and 2+ professional references
  • Location: You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK, even for remote / online jobs
  • Safeguarding: Knowledge of safeguarding and creating a safe learning environment
The SEND Tutor and Teacher role and responsibilities
  • Provide in person, online / remote, and hybridMaths, English, or Science tuition to children, teenagers, and young people with SEMH and SEND needs, including MLD, SLD, PMLD, and other Additional Educational Needs
  • Support pupils and students, ranging from KS1 - KS5 (as appropriate for your skills), referred by local authorities and schools by planning and delivering flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring
  • Plan and report for lessons and provide regular feedback on student progress
  • We are on a mission to raise the standard of education provided to young people with SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), as well as other needs such as SEMH needs (Social, Emotional and Mental Health). We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties), and PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties).
