Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is assisting in filling a Teaching Assistant role at an excellent school in Skegness, Lincolnshire. This full-time, long-term position focuses on supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs, helping them access lessons and engage with the curriculum.

The role requires building nurturing relationships, calmly managing behaviour, and collaborating with teachers and pastoral teams to create a structured learning environment.

Qualifications

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN and/or SEMH needs.
• Support students to access lessons and the wider curriculum.
• Help develop students' confidence, engagement and independence.
• Build positive and consistent relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN and/or SEMH needs
• Support students to access lessons and the wider curriculum
• Help develop students' confidence, engagement and independence
• Build positive and consistent relationships with young people
• Support positive behaviour using calm, consistent and nurturing approaches
• Work closely with teachers and the wider pastoral and support team
• Help create a safe, structured and encouraging learning environment
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, SEMH or additional needs is desirable
• Patient, resilient and confident when supporting young people with challenging behaviour
• A positive and nurturing approach to supporting students
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Available for full-time, long-term work
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
