Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a full-time Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant for a long-term supply placement at a specialist secondary school in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire. The role focuses on supporting students with SEN and SEMH to access lessons and the wider curriculum.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant, with a patient, nurturing approach and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEN/SEMH in a secondary setting.
• Ability to deliver 1:1 and small-group support to learners.
• Experience using nurturing behaviour management approaches.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in a long-term supply role.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN/SEMH needs
• Help students access lessons and the wider curriculum
• Support development of confidence, engagement and independence
• Build positive relationships with students and staff
• Support behaviour using calm, nurturing approaches
• Collaborate with teachers and pastoral teams
• Help create a safe, structured learning environment
• Prior experience in similar roles is desirable
