Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment Ltd, on behalf of a specialist school in Newton Abbot, Devon, is seeking a caring Learning Support Assistant to join from September 2026. You will work with pupils with SEMH/EBD, supporting their engagement and behaviour within small classes.

The role offers a daily rate of £110-£150, with full-time or part-time long-term opportunities, weekly pay, and CPD opportunities. HLTA experience welcomed and encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs.
• Patience, resilience, and ability to build relationships.
• Willingness to work with HLTA-qualified candidates.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in small SEMH-focused classes.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group support.
• Help manage behaviour, emotions and social interactions.
• Build positive relationships with pupils.
• Support learning across the curriculum.
