Job summary

Aspire People is supporting several welcoming Primary Schools in Stockport with roles for SEND Teaching Assistants from September. You will support pupils with ASD, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH and other needs to access learning and participate in school life.

The successful candidate will be patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents, with a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning. Weekly pay and long‑term opportunities are on offer.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people.
  • Patient, caring and adaptable with a positive approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and supporting learning barriers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with additional needs to access learning.
  • Support on a 1:1 basis or in small intervention groups.
  • Collaborate with class teachers and SENDCOs to facilitate participation.

Aspire People is working with a number of welcoming Primary Schools across Stockport who are looking to recruit caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs from September.

Whether you already have school‑based experience or have supported children in another setting, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

You’ll provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and successfully participate in school life.

Support areas
  • Autism (ASD)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Other additional learning needs

Support may be on a 1:1 basis or within small intervention groups, working closely with class teachers and SENDCOs.
