Base pay range

• Position: SEN Teaching Assistant – KS1
• Location: Harborne, Birmingham
• Start Date: ASAP

Elevate Supply is currently recruiting for a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, Ofsted-rated 'Good' primary school in Harborne. This is a long-term role working in a Key Stage 1 classroom, providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs.

The school is seeking someone with a calm and patient approach who can build positive relationships with young learners and contribute to a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for KS1 pupils with SEN
• Assist the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
• Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural challenges
• Monitor and report on student progress to the class teacher and SENCO
• Encourage positive interaction and engagement in classroom routines
  
  

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience supporting children with SEN, particularly in primary settings (desirable)
• A patient, empathetic and consistent approach
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• An understanding of the KS1 curriculum and early learning development
• A proactive and flexible attitude to supporting different needs across the classroom
