Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking an experienced Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEN school in Blackburn, Lancashire, for a full-time, term-time position. You will deliver a broad, differentiated curriculum across core and foundation subjects to pupils aged 4-16, adapting lessons to meet diverse needs and targets.

The role requires QTS/QTLS, a calm, nurturing approach, and proven SEN experience, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH.

Qualifications

  • QTS/QTLS (essential)
  • Proven experience teaching pupils with SEN
  • Strong understanding of needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and communication difficulties
  • Ability to deliver across multiple subjects and adapt teaching effectively
  • Calm, nurturing approach and strong classroom management skills
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, adapted lessons across core and foundation subjects
  • Teach pupils across primary and secondary age ranges with varying needs and abilities
  • Implement and review EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Assess, track, and report pupil progress
  • Work collaboratively with TAs, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Support pupils' social, emotional, and behavioural development
