SEN Primary Teacher

Location: Frodsham, Cheshire
Start Date: ASAP / September 2026
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Primary Teacher looking for an opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people?

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist independent school in Frodsham for an enthusiastic and committed SEN Primary Teacher to join their supportive and dedicated education team.

The school provides a highly personalised education for pupils with autism, complex learning needs, communication difficulties and sensory integration needs. The learning environment is structured, calm and low-arousal, with teaching adapted around each pupil's individual strengths, needs, interests and learning style.

The Role

You will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging and appropriately differentiated lessons.
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual learning, communication and sensory needs.
  • Support pupils to achieve their academic, social, emotional and life-skills outcomes.
  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Monitor, assess and record pupil progress.
  • Contribute to individual education plans and EHCP outcomes.
  • Promote independence, communication and confidence.
  • Create a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
  • Support pupils' preparation for greater independence and life beyond education.
About You

The successful candidate will be a qualified teacher with a genuine passion for working with children and young people with additional needs.

You will ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience working within a primary or SEN setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Current safeguarding/child protection training.
  • A patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
  • The ability to adapt your teaching to individual needs.
  • A commitment to promoting positive outcomes and pupil independence.

Experience of working with autism, sensory needs, communication difficulties, complex learning needs or challenging behaviour would be highly advantageous.
