Job summary

Academics are recruiting a Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Watford, supporting children from Reception through to Year 8 with a range of SEN needs.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, drawing on your EYFS experience to foster communication, independence and confidence through play-based activities. Patience, nurture and a proactive approach are essential to help pupils engage and learn.

Qualifications

• EYFS experience in early childhood settings preferred.
• Ability to support pupils with SEN needs.
• Ability to work 1:1 and in small groups.
• Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Using your EYFS experience to support communication, social and emotional development.
• Helping children develop independence and confidence.
• Supporting learning through play-based and engaging activities.
• Providing a nurturing, patient and consistent approach.
• Supporting children with a range of SEN needs.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals.
