Job summary

Academics is recruiting a Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Welwyn Garden City. You will support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis, drawing on EYFS expertise to foster communication, independence and confidence.

The role focuses on pupils with a broad range of additional needs, including autism and language delays. You will work with teachers and specialists to provide nurturing, consistent support and engaging play-based learning activities.

Qualifications

• Experience in EYFS and early childhood settings will be highly transferable
• Strong communication, social development and routine management skills are valued
• Ability to create engaging activities and nurture children with SEN

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
• Using EYFS experience to support communication, social and emotional development
• Helping children develop independence and confidence
• Supporting learning through play-based and engaging activities
• Providing a nurturing, patient and consistent approach
• Supporting children with a range of SEN needs
• Assisting with personal care where required
• Working closely with teachers and other professionals
