The SEN Maths Teacher Role

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Maths Teacher eager to make a difference? We are seeking a SEN Maths Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Brixton, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and mild learning difficulties (MLD).

In this role, you will create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment tailored to each student's needs. Your expertise will help develop lessons that build on basic mathematical foundations.

The successful candidate will join an excellent ASD school catering to children with mild learning difficulties. The school offers provisions for pupils aged 11-19 and features indoor and outdoor environments designed to maximise learning and promote independence and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalised educational programs
• Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed
• Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development
• Lead and work with a support team within the classroom
• Work with Year 8 and 9 students to achieve personal goals aligned with EHCPs/care plans

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• SEN experience is desirable but not required
• Experience in primary education preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
