SEN Maths Teacher

A truly fantastic ASD secondary school in Lambeth that has students with mild learning difficulties (MLD) is looking for a SEN Maths teacher for KS3 starting in September 2025. This school is a small SEN school where all students have a diagnosis of autism. The aim is to enable these students to succeed in future employment through an inspiring curriculum focused on independence skills, lifelong learning, and community participation.

The SEN Maths Teacher Role

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Maths Teacher eager to make a difference? We are seeking a SEN Maths Teacher for a vibrant primary school in Lambeth, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and mild learning difficulties (MLD).

In this role, you will create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment tailored to each student's needs. Your expertise will help build lessons that develop basic mathematical skills.

The successful candidate will join a fantastic ASD school in Lambeth for children with mild learning difficulties, providing education for pupils aged 11-19. The school offers various indoor and outdoor environments to maximize learning and promote independence and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalized educational programs
• Foster a positive, supportive classroom atmosphere
• Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as needed
• Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development
• Work with and lead a support team within the classroom
• Work specifically with Year 8 and 9 students to achieve their personal goals in line with EHCPs/care plans

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• SEN experience is desirable but not required
• Experience in primary education preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
