Job summary

CER Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support a SEN school in Sunderland. The role involves providing individualised support to students aged 2–19 with SEN and working with teachers to implement tailored interventions.

Qualifications

• Current students or graduates or experienced candidates welcomed.
• At least 3 months’ relevant experience as a support worker or related role.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to students between ages 2 and 19 with SEN.
• Work with the class teacher to deliver tailored interventions and support strategies.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and encourage engagement and confidence.
• Assist with EHCP implementation.
• Support academic and social development and life skills.
• Provide pastoral care and emotional support.
• Assist with behaviour management in the classroom.
• Support on trips, outreach days and life skills lessons.
