Job summary

CER Education is recruiting a Sports Coach to work as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN school in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role is full-time, term-time only, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm, with pay of £14.25 to £17.29 per hour.

The position involves supporting students aged 11–19 with SEMH, ASD or ADHD, working with teachers on tailored interventions and helping students build essential life skills in a specialist SEN setting.

Qualifications

• Currently studying or graduated in Sports Coaching, Sport and Development, or Level 3 in Sport
• At least 3 months’ experience in sports coaching, football coaching, fitness, residential or SEMH settings
• Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is not essential but encouraged

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised support to students aged 11–19 with SEMH, ASD or ADHD
• Collaborate with teachers to deliver tailored interventions
• Foster an inclusive learning environment and promote engagement
• Assist with EHCP implementation and life skills development
• Support with behaviour management and pastoral care
• Assist on school trips, outreach days and life skills sessions
