Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Blyth, starting in January 2025. This is a full-time or part-time opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a lasting impact on their lives, progress, and development.
About the School:
- The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Blyth.
- The School supports pupils aged 4-19, with opportunities to support across all year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
- The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work collaboratively within classrooms to maintain high standards of support.
Pay, Hours, and Contract:
- Pay – Between £80-95 per day
- Hours – Full-time or part-time, with roles available for 1-5 days per week based on your availability and preference.
- Contract – Temporary, until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025.

About the Role:
- Supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, aged 4-19, based on your experience and preference.
- Supporting pupils who may be non-verbal or require Personal Care, with a willingness to assist in these areas.
- Developing an understanding of different needs and learning styles, working closely with Class Teachers and colleagues.
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (preferred).
- Experience working with children in UK schools.
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- Resilient, proactive, and positive attitude.
- Right to Work in the UK.
- Enhanced child DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to apply for one.
- Two professional references covering the last two years.
